Welcome to The Education Conservancy! Established in March, 2004, The Education Conservancy (EC) is a non-profit organization committed to improving college admission processes for students, colleges and high schools. By harnessing the research, ideas, leadership and imagination of thoughtful educators, EC delivers appropriate advice, advocacy and services. In a short period of time EC has established its presence and enlisted significant interest and support nationwide.

Recent developments include:
  • Contributed to the new documentary, The Test & The Art of Thinking: https://www.thetestdoc.org/
  • Developed a one page flyer, GPA vs SAT, based on data presented in Crossing the Finish Line
  • “Turning the Tide: Inspiring Concern for Others and the Common Good Through College Admissions” A collaborative effort with the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Making Caring Common Project. Description and report can be accessed here.
  • "Presidential Thinking" An investigation into the thinking behind financial aid policy, based on interviews with college presidents. The full report can be accessed here.
  • "Conceiving an Exemplary Admissions System" A report on a meeting of scholars and institutional leaders to envision an exemplary admission system. The full report can be accessed here.
  • "Information Matters" Research investigates the college planning needs of prospective college students and makes a case for improving the quality and delivery of guidence and information. Executive summary and full report available here.
New Projects and Developments:
  • Grants received from: Spencer Foundation, Einhorn Family Charitable Trust, RSF Social Finance
  • "Turning the Tide: Inspiring Concern for Others and the Common Good Through College Admissions" A collaborative initiative with Harvard Graduate School of Education's Making Caring Common project.
  • Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success. EC is advising on the development of a new set of online application tools that reflect EC values and research.
